Types of Homes
Parkside North will include 1-bedroom accessible suites, and 3 and 4 bedroom family townhomes.
As a mixed market housing development, Parkside North will include some tenants and families that pay a market rental rate, and others who pay a percentage less than market.
Half of the homes in Parkside North will be rented at below the average market rent in Edmonton to tenants and families with a qualifying household income.
Homes at Parkside North are being designed to a NetZero energy standard. This means that annually these high-performance homes will generate as much energy as they use.
The development is also designed for durability and resilience, with design features and products that are built to last.
There will be 20 ground-oriented 1-bedroom accessible suites in Parkside North.
These homes are specifically designed to accommodate mobility aids, such as wheelchairs, and can be adapted to meet a variety of accessibility needs.
In 2021, Canada Lands Company, the developer of the Griesbach Neighbourhood, invited applicants to propose affordable housing development concepts for 6409 Laubman Street NW under the Federal Lands Initiative program. HomeEd was selected to move forward with a family-oriented townhome development.
HomeEd continues to advance the site design with the intention to begin construction in 2023 and have our first new residents moving in late in 2024.
